Trip to Llangollen

On Tuesday 9th May we left the Four Lane Ends Mission at 9.30 am for our trip to Llangollen.  We made our way to the Grosvenor Garden Centre for coffee, an early lunch and a browse around the Centre.  We then continued over the Llandegla Moors and on to the Horseshoe Pass. The views were magnificent as the day was perfect – we could not have wished for better weather.  At the end of the pass we stopped to view the Valle Crucis Abbey, an old Cistercian Abbey dating back to 1201, and had a short talk.  We arrived at Froncysyllte in time for the 2.30 pm sailing back to Llangollen over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Again the views were stunning – all the lovely wild flowers and the different shades of green of the trees.  We completed our trip with a superb early dinner at the White Waters Hotel before our journey home.

An excellent day was had by all!!!
