This was a very informative talk by Christina Clarke who gave us a very clear insight into the work and

life of Rennie Mackintosh.  We learnt about his work, family and poor health in his twilight years and at

78 Derngate.

Christina showed us slides of the designs he produced with the help of his wife, and it was surprising just how much of the work is so fashionable and popular today.  The rooms and furniture were

comfortable, welcoming and most modern.  The evening was well attended and well received by

members in attendance,many of whom had been to see his work and  others who were keen to visit

78 Derngate in the future.
