Forest of Bowland

Members were given a presentation on the history of the Forest of Bowland, an area of outstanding beauty.  Andrew showed us some excellent photographs of views of this area of which he is so found.

A brief history of the development of the Forest was given along with some of the villages and landmarks, many of which were known to members of the Society.

Local people were featured in the talk, along with estates and farms, rivers, mountains and wildlife together with well-known walks, for which this countryside is so popular.

Andrew has published a book and this was for sale at the meeting.
