History of Liverpool Docks

A talk by Ken Pye.

This was the first meeting in this series of lectures and exceptionally well attended with 42 people!

As usual, Ken delivered a most interesting presentation on the history of the Liverpool Docks, the people, trade and the development of the docks. He explained the fascinating work involved in building the series of docks over the years, along with the people and ships used to carry goods both to Liverpool and all over the world. The importance of the trade is well known and just as relevant today.

Ken is not only an excellent speaker, but also delivers clear and interesting slides which explain his extensive knowledge. Following the talk the audience had time to ask questions. This was a great start to our season and we hope to see our members & visitors again.
